Romance expert Miss Lora (as seen on the National TV Rachael Ray talk show) comes to the rescue of the clueless in the whacky world of online personals with Chapter 2 of “The Southern Guide to Internet Dating”. A little bit trailer trash and a lot of common sense, Miss Lora tells you what to do, say and wear (“You don’t want to go there. Trust me.”) and increases your chances of finding the right mate. This week, she tells you how to avoid making an idiot of yourself on the phone. Subscribe and catch every chapter coming soon or learn more at SouthernGuidetoInternetDating.com or www.SGtoID.com.

I’ve noticed that on most dating websites such as match.com, craigslist.org, yahoo personals, women tend to only respond to ads from men that are extremely good looking. For the most part, anything less you hardly get anything or nothing at all. I’ve done an experiment where I’ve posted a hot male model but write a bad/uneducated sounding post and I’d still get resposes whereas I’d write a heartfelt post but put a decent /above avg guy’s picture up and I get hardly anything. Even unattractive or average women just respond to the good looking guy’s post and don’t humble themselves to find someone just decent around their level. Why is that? How can people find dating opportunities online if women only reply to you only if you look literally like a male model?
to LISA K…just because you’re attractive doesn’t mean you think you should be getting abercrombie and fitch models. For example just because you’re a 6 doesn’t mean you deserve a 10 and only reply to 10′s. You tend to forget that men will literally ***** anything which is why they give you all the attention making you feel like you’re attractive

Recently I found my husband searching online personals and he had profiles that said he was "unhappy in his marriage looking for something discreet on the side" and when I confronted him he said that he was just looking at pictures and he never even spoke to anyone or went any further than looking. I told him I don’t care that he looks but I don’t understand why he makes profiles that are so realistic and keeps looking for local women if he’s just looking at pictures. Does anyone know of a way I can check up on his story without him knowing or any suggestions on what I should do. I can’t talk to any of my friends or family about this because I promised my husband I wouldn’t and they would confront him if they knew. Please help!
since I confronted him he deleted all of the profiles I found and I don’t know which services he is using now to create my own profile at.
We have two children and I am 7 months pregnant with number three.
Met a really great guy thru an online personals 5 months ago. We met once, I thought it was fantastic yet his emailing certainly slowed down – yet he does flirt and sends kisses thru his notes. Is it typical in this internet world to flirt like this and not take any kind of internet meeting thing seriously? I so fell for him yet found recently he kept his online profile as single and even updates it. So am I foolish or what? Just seeing what I want to see? Should I stop writing him so I don’t get hurt? Neither one of us can make the road trip for another ‘in life’ meeting….so should I stop this now before it hurts more??? (just to add we are both over 35 yrs old and I am so new to online personals – I took myself off the site after the first month of talking)
If you were reading online personals and the man’s personal ad included "I am very ticklish!", would that be a plus, a minus or a meaningless remark to you?
Ok I am Male 35. Does anyone with anxiety disorder find it hard to tell others that they have anxiety disorder when they are dating or talking with a love interest?? I mean I put on my online yahoo personals they I have Anxiety and i feel like I have lepracy or some infectious disease from the responces i have been getting.
