I loved my ex very, very much. He broke up with me a couple months ago after we dated for a year and a half, and my very good friend of ten years if it was okay with me if she dated him. I told her it would really hurt me, and she did it anyway. They broke up after a week, and he begged me back. He broke my heart again, then the "friend" told me she rejected him when he asked her out AGAIN, and yet here they are at school, dating. It kills me. Neither of them understand why I’m upset; he keeps making excuses, and she’ll make me look like the bad guy just for being upset. How do I get over this? We have the same friends, and since I have a class with the former friend, I feel obliged to be nice to her. She thinks I’m fine with it because of that.
But that’s the thing, it’s not all in the past. I still have to see the disgusting couple.

I read an article lately that stated that couples who date that are on the same "level" of attractiveness have a higher chance of success. What do you all think of that statement? Is it true — or not true? If you’re a hot girl dating a not-so-hot guy, will it most likely fail — and vice versa?
Met someone online a month ago…we havent stopped talking on the phone eversince. We talk for hours, text for hours, and have a lot of chemistry. We exchanged pics, but i havent done this before so i am a bit apprehensive. He plans on visiting me in a week and he says he is in the army. He has talked about marriage in such a short time and we really like each other. Any advice on this?

Some of my female friends just entered the world of online dating, and they always ask questions about the messages they receive. For instance, they try to figure out a person by the length of their messages. For instance, if a guy sends a long response, then my friends will think that he’s probably desperate, of if the guy sends a short message, then he’s probably chatting/talking to a lot of women, etc.
This is ridiculous. Why not just find someone who you’re interested in (or could be interested in) and just go with the flow, instead of trying figure everything out before anything happens?

Over the past 6 months or so, I’ve gone on quite a few dates with different girls. We mostly talk and text over the phone, getting more comfortable with each other as the days go on. When we finally do meet however, it seems like the girl is almost immediately "turned off" or doesn’t seem at all attracted to me. I’m fit, 6′ tall, and I think decent looking.
I’ll post a link for you to see what I look like. We then start to talk or do whatever, ice cream or go to a park or what not, very low-key, and either they’ll talk to me and we’ll have a good conversation for a while, or they’re super quiet and don’t really talk unless I ask the questions.
Again, we talk for several weeks and really start to become comfortable, until we meet up. It’s like what the hell? I make decent conversation, I try to make them laugh…but it’s like they immediately lose their attraction when we meet or something…very confusing. Or sometimes even, we’ll have what I think is an awesome night, but then I don’t hear from them in like a week, not really texting or calling them, trying to play it off as if I’m not interested, and then when I do finally see how they’re doing, they usually reply with something along the lines that they’re not interested, or that there wasn’t any chemistry at the date. Annoying and frustrating!
